Search Engine Optimization Guidelines, The Priousol Way

What is Search Engine Optimization?

Search Engine Optimization or so called the SEO is the course in which your web site undergoes redevelopment, carefully selecting the proper keywords to prove its mark on the search engines. It is where after SEO that a web site is ranked. Sounds simple but it’s not. Search engine optimization can be easier said than done. It’s tricky and confusing. After series of study, I decided to create some guidelines that will help anyone with the course. These guidelines will assist you in everything you need to know about optimizing your web pages for the search engines easily at a speedy time.

Choosing the Right Keywords

Since the keywords that you prefer to intend will be used throughout the optimization procedure, choosing the right keywords is necessary. To get listed properly in the search engines, every page of your site that you would like to list needs to be optimized to the best of your ability. If you select the wrong keywords, you will never be located in the search engines. If that’s the case, how will you promote your site if it’s not visible?

There are important factors in obtaining the search engine rank and having the right keywords weigh much on the situation. You must think on the specific keywords phrases and not by just selecting a general term because there is a huge competition in the search engines. You stand a better chance to rank well for specific phrases where there is less competition. For example, your site sells shoes. It is too general if you choose shoes or kid’s shoes as your keywords. I tell you, there are a thousand of websites on that same category who uses the same keywords instead use men’s badminton shoes or women’s leather flats. It’s much better.

Imagine yourself as the audience. Try asking yourself if you were to search a website, what would be the exact terms that you will be using. Try to come up with many keywords as you can. Consult your friends and family about their opinion, too. You should develop a list of all the keywords you have selected.

Relevant Content

After keywords are finalized forward the generated list to the content writers. They are the one responsible in creating unique but relevant content. It should be guaranteed that your content will make use of the keywords in accordance with the accurate densities and marketing of your site.

The content of your page is also very important in order to achieve better search engine listings. A relevant content is as important as your title tag. Search engines, just like a visitor to your site would read the content on your page to figure out what you have to offer. Here’s a tip, the text content should include your most important keyword phrases, but should stay logical & clear. Be sure to use those phrases that you have used in your meta tags, alt, headings, title, etc., during the optimization procedure. Visibility of its content is one of the most important things you could possibly do to improve your listings in the search engines so make sure you maintain it even if you need to redesign your site.

Title Tag and Meta Tags

The title tag of your page is the most vital factor to consider when optimizing your web page for the search engines for the reason that most engines & directories place a high level of importance on keywords that are found in your title tag. Search engines also use it for the title of your listing in the search results.

Meta tags were developed to help search engines find out important information about your page that they might have had a hard time determining it. An example of it is a description of the page itself or related terms. Take note of this: a good meta tags are not all that a web site needs to achieve high rankings in the search engines which many people mistakenly believes. It is always a part of a well optimized page but they are not the main reason of optimizing your pages. There are major differences before, during the early days, when you get great listings from just optimizing meta tags and now, that you need to optimize not only the meta tags but a combination of all search engine optimization guidelines. Just give priority on your meta keywords and meta description to have a good meta tags.

Now that we are almost done with the important guidelines in optimizing our web site, from choosing the right keywords, relevant content and the title tag and meta tags, we must also be aware of the things that we should avoid doing, “spamming.”

Spamming is the term used to describe techniques that might be use to trick search engines into ranking a website high up in their search results. It is important to avoid doing activities such as using more than one title tag. Do not submit identical pages, mirror sites and submit the same page to any engine more than once within 24hrs. Do not use any keywords in your keywords meta tag that do not straightly relate to the content of your page. Search engines can detect this and view it as spam. Search engines will penalize websites that use such methods and will either demote them in their rankings, or exclude them completely or the risk of being blacklisted by them.

Sometimes, search engines rank web sites based on how natural the sites appears on the search engines. Having a pleasant and cool website is not enough! What matters most is to gain audience and bring traffic to your website.
